We talked a lot with vehicle operators to determine the ideal size, access, security and safety features of the IDEA's cargo area to meet the needs of the job. That customer input helped us create a "right-sized" light-duty vehicle. From the 180 cubic feet in the cargo area, to the 2000 pound payload, to the creative and practical design of the rear doors, the IDEA really works for business.
70/30 Rear Door
Our customer-focused research revealed that drivers need to open both rear doors of a typical fleet vehicle while accessing cargo. By making the door on the right larger, the IDEA provides ample clearance with only one door open, saving the driver an extra step on most jobs and increasing safety in high-traffic environments.
Wide Side Access Door
For convenient curbside loading and unloading, the IDEA's single swing, or sliding, 35-inch-wide side cargo door provides easy access to cargo.
Integral Bulkhead
Our customers told us that they often install a bulkhead divider between the driver compartment and the cargo space for safety. We integrated a lightweight bulkhead into the vehicle design that not only keeps contents securely separated from the driver compartment, but also improves driver safety and comfort.
